Class of 2022 College Application Numbers
Top Universities Report Record-High Number of Applications for the 2017-18 College Admissions Cycle Many colleges and universities are releasing stats on their college application numbers for the class of 2022, and several are reporting record-setting applicant pools. As students continue to apply to more colleges than ever before, applicant pools at some of the countryââ¬â¢s top institutions continue to grow year after year ââ¬â and become even more selective as students compete for a limited number of spots. This year, NYU reported that 75,307 students applied for admission to the class of 2022 ââ¬â ââ¬Å"the most applicants received by any private university in the United States,â⬠according to the university. Brown University received a record-high number of applications to the class of 2022, with 35,368 students applying ââ¬â an 8% increase over the year before. Yale University also reported a record-setting applicant pool, with 35,305 students applying to the class of 2022. These record-high application numbers come just a month after many colleges reported record-low early admission rates for the class of 2022, making for a very competitive college admissions cycle at some of the countryââ¬â¢s most selective colleges and universities.
